Thank you for your interest in joining either the Student Orientation Staff (SOS) or the SOUL Camp Mentor Staff!  SOS and SOUL Camp are two premiere student leadership groups at the University of èßäÉçÇø¹ÙÍø at Lafayette. Selection to either staff is extremely competitive, and those selected represent the best and brightest of our university.

About Our Teams

The Student Orientation Staff works to facilitate our Orientation programs, welcoming over 6,000 new students & parents to campus each year and collectively volunteering over 15,000 hours each spring and summer.

SOUL Camp Mentors facilitate SOUL Camp, our Extended Orientation program that supplements New Student Orientation. Camp is designed to provide new students with the skills and networks needed to develop leadership skills and Ragin' Cajun spirit.

Staff Application Process

All applications must thoroughly review the 2025-2026 Staff Application Packet before applying. The packet contains the application link and important information about time commitments, qualifications, and benefits of the Student Orientation Staff and SOUL Camp Mentor experiences.

Meet our team and learn more about the SOS and SOUL Camp experiences at an Interest Session or Information Table. Attendance is not required, but is highly encouraged!

2025-2026 Staff Applications deadline will be announced at a later date.

Applications are time-stamped upon submission. Any application submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. No exceptions!

All applicants must attend and fully participate in a group interview. Interview date and time TBA.

Applicants will receive a confirmation email with additional details, including information about parking, check-in, and attire. 

Whether or not you've been selected to advance to the individual interview round, all applicants will receive an email notification.

If selected to advance, you'll be invited to schedule an individual interview. The individual interviews are held online via Zoom on a variety of dates to be announced.

Keep a close eye on your email! We will officially announce the 2025-2026 Student Orientation Staff and SOUL Camp Staff on a date to be announced.
